Ketty Blanco Zaldívar named finalist for Setenil Prize

Cuban writer Ketty Blanco Zaldívar has been named one of ten finalists for the 2026 Setenil Prize, an award for the best book of short stories published in Spain. Her work, ‘Los niños perdidos de mamá’ (Polibeo), was selected from a total of 108 submissions.

The prize is organized by the City Council of Molina de Segura in the Murcia region of Spain. The 23rd edition of the award includes a 10,000 euro prize for the winner. The jury is presided over by writer Juan Carlos Márquez and includes members Inma Pelegrín, Basilio Pujante, and Marta Zafrilla.

The final decision is expected to be announced between late October and early November, with the award ceremony scheduled for December. Other finalists include works by Sofía Balbuena, Fran Camacho, Daniel Díaz Carpintero, Gloria Fernández Rozas, Miguel A. González, Santiago Gutiérrez, Mar Horno, Marco Llull, and Elvira Navarro.
