LIDOM: Licey achieves no-hitter while Gigantes win dramatic extra-innings game

In recent Dominican Winter Baseball League (LIDOM) action, the Tigres del Licey achieved a historic milestone by defeating the Toros del Este 3-0 via a combined no-hitter. Seven pitchers—Luis Gil, Randel Clemente, Alexander Cornielle, Michael Arias, Luis Frías, Wander Suero, and Jean Carlos Mejía—combined to prevent the Toros from recording a single hit at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium. This marks the 12th no-hitter in the history of professional Dominican baseball.

In a separate high-scoring matchup, the Gigantes del Cibao secured a 7-6 victory over the Toros del Este in ten innings at the Julián Javier Stadium. The game was decided in the bottom of the tenth after Agustín Ramírez hit a triple and a defensive error by Wilmer Difó allowed the winning run to score. The Gigantes' win, fueled by Ramírez's three RBIs, moves them into second place in the standings.

Other league results included the Gigantes defeating Leones del Escogido 14-9, while the game between Estrellas Orientales and Águilas Cibaeñas was suspended due to rain. Following these games, Licey holds the league lead with a 4-1 record.
