Kevin Bacon and family premiere horror-comedy ‘Family Movie’

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have premiered their new horror-comedy, ‘Family Movie’, at the Scary Movies XIV festival at the Lincoln Center in New York. The film marks Bacon’s return to directing a feature-length movie after nearly two decades.

In a unique collaborative effort, the entire Bacon family is involved in the production. Kevin and Kyra co-directed the film, while their children, Travis and Sosie Bacon, appear in the cast. Travis also contributed to the film's music. The production also saw the family members serving as producers.

The plot follows the Smith family, a group of filmmakers attempting to produce a low-budget horror movie on a Texas farm. The production descends into chaos when a real corpse is discovered on set, turning their fictional slasher into a dangerous reality. ‘Family Movie’ is scheduled for theatrical release on April 23, 2027.
