Kevin Castaño joins Atlético Mineiro on loan from River Plate

Colombian midfielder Kevin Castaño has joined Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro on a one-year loan from River Plate. The deal includes a mandatory purchase option for five million dollars, covering 50% of his economic rights.

Castaño, 25, arrives in Brazil following a period at River Plate where his performance drew criticism. River Plate had previously invested 16 million dollars to acquire his rights from Krasnodar and Cruz Azul, making him the club's second most expensive signing. During his tenure in Argentina, he appeared in 45 matches without scoring a goal.

A Colombian international who played in the recent World Cup, Castaño expressed his commitment to his new club, stating he will give his best to help the team achieve its objectives, including the Copa Sudamericana.
