Kevin De Bruyne and Massimiliano Allegri clash at Napoli

Tensions have risen between Napoli manager Massimiliano Allegri and midfielder Kevin De Bruyne following a 3-1 defeat against Villarreal. Reports indicate a tactical disagreement occurred during the match when Allegri instructed De Bruyne to play in a deeper role to facilitate better distribution and allow Scott McTominay more freedom near the goal.

De Bruyne reportedly reacted with visible irritation, refusing to turn toward his coach and using gestures to express frustration regarding his positioning. The disagreement was significant enough that Allegri reportedly considered substituting the Belgian midfielder for David Neres during the match.

Allegri has expressed dissatisfaction not only with De Bruyne but also with veteran players such as Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Matteo Politano, demanding a change in attitude from the squad to avoid further consequences.
