Kevin Diks joins Indonesia squad after Monchengladbach loss

Borussia Monchengladbach defender Kevin Diks has rejoined the Indonesia national team following a difficult period with his club. During a recent Bundesliga match against Mainz, Diks served as captain but missed a penalty, contributing to a 3-4 defeat that leaves Monchengladbach at the bottom of the league standings.

The match was marked by internal tension when substitute Shuto Machino took a second penalty instead of Diks. Reports indicate Diks showed visible dissatisfaction by refusing to celebrate Machino’s successful goal.

Diks expressed frustration over his inability to support the Indonesian national team during their recent exit from the ASEAN Hyundai Cup, which was due to club commitments during non-FIFA international windows. He has now arrived to prepare for the upcoming FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026.
