Kevin Durant enters 20th NBA season with Houston Rockets

Kevin Durant is entering his 20th NBA season with the Houston Rockets, maintaining elite production despite his veteran status. Last season, Durant averaged 26 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists over 78 games, earning All-NBA Second Team honors.

As the Rockets look to advance deeper into the playoffs, Durant remains the central figure of their offense alongside a young core including Alperen Şengün, Amen Thompson, and Reed Sheppard. Rockets head coach Ime Udoka noted Durant’s high workload and desire to remain on the floor.

Looking ahead to 2027, Durant will hold a player option for the 2027-2028 season, allowing him to either accept a $46.1 million salary in Houston or become an unrestricted free agent. His future destination remains a point of speculation as he seeks to extend his championship window.
