Kevin Durant eyes Team USA GM role and eyes major investment payout

NBA star Kevin Durant is eyeing a future role in basketball administration following his eventual retirement. In an interview with Boardroom, Durant expressed a desire to serve as the general manager for the United States men’s national team during a future Olympics.

Durant has a significant history with Team USA, having won four Olympic gold medals and holding the program's records for most rebounds, field goals made, and three-point field goals made. He is currently the leading scorer in the national team’s Olympic history.

Beyond his basketball career, Durant has demonstrated success as an investor. Following reports that Nvidia has acquired the AI platform Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, analysts suggest Durant could see a massive payout. Durant and his business partner, Rich Kleiman, reportedly invested a combined $250,000 during the company’s seed and Series A funding rounds. While the exact return is unconfirmed, estimates suggest the investment could yield more than $60 million.
