Kevin Durant targets fifth Olympic gold with US basketball team at 2028 Los Angeles Games

Four‑time Olympic champion Kevin Durant, who secured gold medals in London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024, said he still hopes to earn a spot on the United States men’s basketball roster for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Speaking at a USA Basketball event, Durant emphasized that the final decision rests with team director Grant Hill and the coaching staff, adding, “It all depends on Grant Hill and what the USA wants. I’ll keep working and maintain my level, hoping to get the call.”

Durant, who will be nearly 40 when the Games begin, noted that many talented players also deserve consideration. If selected and the team repeats its success, he would become the first male basketball player in history to win five Olympic gold medals.
