Kevin Durant trade rumors persist with declining value
Speculation continues regarding the potential trade of Kevin Durant from the Houston Rockets. While the 37-year-old remains a high-level scorer, averaging 26 points per game last season, league executives suggest his trade value has decreased compared to his previous transaction.
When the Phoenix Suns traded Durant to the Rockets, they received a significant package including Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft, and multiple second-round picks. In contrast, current league executives suggest that a trade for Durant now might only yield a single first-round pick.
Concerns regarding his trade value stem from his recent departures from Golden State and Brooklyn, as well as his perceived lack of locker-room leadership. The Rockets face a dilemma, as Durant holds a player option for the 2027-2028 season, which could result in him leaving via free agency with no return if not moved.
