Kevin Durant's AI investment could yield $60 million windfall

NBA star Kevin Durant may have secured a massive financial windfall through an early investment in the artificial intelligence company Hugging Face. Through his investment firm, Thirty Five Ventures, alongside partner Rich Kleiman, Durant reportedly invested approximately $250,000 during the company’s seed and Series A rounds.

Following reports that Nvidia has agreed to acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion, estimates suggest Durant’s initial investment could be worth more than $60 million. This represents a return of roughly 240 times the original capital.

Separately, Durant discussed his personal life in a recent interview with Boardroom, noting that gaming serves as a “safe haven” for him to decompress. He shared that some of his closest friends are individuals he met through online gaming and has maintained relationships with for nearly a decade.
