Kevin Fontainha claims first Moto1000GP victory at Cascavel

Brazilian rider Kevin Fontainha secured his inaugural win in the Moto1000GP series during the GP1000 by Motul event at Autódromo Zilmar Beux in Cascavel. After 21 laps of close competition with teammate Eric Granado and rival Maxi Scheib, Fontainha overtook on the final straight to finish just 0.169 seconds ahead of Scheib, with Granado another 0.373 seconds back.

The triumph marks Fontainha's debut season with the official Honda Racing team and his first top‑category victory after progressing through the national Moto‑velocidade junior ranks. He praised the support of his crew and the Honda team, describing the win as a collective achievement.

The race featured intense lead changes, tight gaps, and strategic battles, with the podium completed by Scheib of JD43 Liqui Moly and Granado. The event highlighted the competitive depth of Brazil’s premier motorcycle racing series.
