Kevin Hart legal battle with former assistant involves 2017 controversy

Shakes is contesting the lawsuit, arguing that Hart failed to meet certain obligations that would make the non-disclosure agreement void. As part of her defense, Shakes intends to call Montia Sabbag to testify. Sabbag was the woman involved in the 2017 recording and previously filed a $60 million lawsuit against Hart alleging he recorded their encounter without consent; that case was ultimately dismissed.

Shakes reportedly aims to use Sabbag’s testimony to argue that Hart’s reputation had already been impacted by past controversies, including the 2017 incident, thereby challenging his claims of recent reputational damage.
