Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat expands through Fox deal and Paramount+ series move
Kevin Hart’s entertainment company, Hartbeat, has expanded its media footprint through new distribution and production agreements.
Paramount+ has acquired the second season of the semi-autobiographical adult animated series ‘Lil Kev’. Originally a BET+ production, the ten-episode season is scheduled to premiere on December 9. The series, which draws from Hart’s childhood in North Philadelphia, will follow the character Kev as he navigates the juvenile justice system.
Additionally, Hartbeat has entered into a partnership with Fox Entertainment to develop short-form dramas into feature films and full-length television series. The initiative begins with 25 live-action short dramas—spanning thrillers, dramas, and faith-based stories—that will debut on the My Drama video app under the Codeblack, Essence, and Revolt brands. Fox’s studio will hold the first rights to develop successful shorts into longer formats, with Fox’s global arm managing international sales.
