Kevin Hayes signs one-year deal with Ak Bars Kazan
Veteran NHL forward Kevin Hayes has signed a one-year contract with Ak Bars Kazan of the KHL in Russia, marking his first professional assignment outside of North America.
Hayes, 43, concludes a career in the NHL spanning over a decade and 805 games. During his tenure in the league, he played for several teams, including the New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets, Philadelphia Flyers, St. Louis Blues, and most recently, the Pittsburgh Penguins. His career highlights include a seven-year, $50 million contract with the Flyers and a Bill Masterton Trophy nomination following a period of personal and physical challenges.
In his final NHL season with Pittsburgh, Hayes appeared in 28 games, recording four goals and eight points. He joins Ak Bars Kazan, a team that recently reached the Gagarin Cup finals.
