Kevin Knight discusses wrestling journey and representation

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Kevin Knight recently discussed his professional wrestling career and his goals for representation in the industry. Knight expressed a desire to provide the type of authentic representation he felt was lacking during his childhood, noting that while prominent Black wrestlers existed, they were often restricted to specific archetypes.

Knight cited Swerve Strickland and Lio Rush as major inspirations due to their ability to be taken seriously as main-event performers while remaining themselves. He has since achieved milestones including his first main event with Strickland and a title defense against Rush.

Reflecting on his journey, Knight shared that he nearly left the business during the pandemic while training without clear prospects. He also touched upon his upcoming appearance at the Fishers Event Center in Indianapolis, where he hopes to engage with local fans.
