Kevin Mier error leads to Rayados de Monterrey goal against Cruz Azul

During a Liga MX Apertura 2026 match at Estadio BBVA, Cruz Azul goalkeeper Kevin Mier committed a significant error in the 6th minute against Rayados de Monterrey. Attempting to play the ball with his feet rather than catching it, Mier lost control, allowing César Garza to score into the empty net.

The mistake has drawn intense criticism from fans and media, with many calling for his replacement. Reports highlight that this is not an isolated incident, noting previous high-profile errors by the Colombian goalkeeper against teams such as Atlas, Querétaro, and Club América.
