Kevin Nash claims responsibility for Rey Mysterio’s WCW unmasking

Kevin Nash recently revealed on the “Kliq This” podcast that he was responsible for the decision to unmask Rey Mysterio during his tenure in WCW. Nash stated that the move was intended to increase Mysterio’s marketability for advertising campaigns, noting, “the mask doesn't make Rey Mysterio, the mask makes Rey Mysterio money.” Nash believed that showing Mysterio’s face would allow for broader commercial appeal in venues like Times Square.

Mysterio has previously expressed disagreement with the decision, suggesting that being unmasked was a negative move for him and other luchadores.

In a separate recent development, WWE RAW star Dragon Lee shared social media photos featuring a rare glimpse of Mysterio without his mask. The images, taken in a gym, show the Hall of Famer unmasked alongside Lee, highlighting the close professional relationship between the two wrestlers.
