Kevin O'Leary promotes gold investments, warns on 401(k) shortfalls

Kevin O’Leary appears in a new television and online campaign for Universal Coin & Bullion, a Beaumont, Texas‑based dealer. In the ads he highlights gold’s long‑term outperformance of major stock indexes over the past 25 years and urges investors to diversify retirement accounts with physical gold, silver and precious‑metal IRAs. The company is offering a limited‑time promotion that provides new clients two one‑ounce American Silver Eagles and a one‑tenth‑ounce American Gold Eagle at dealer cost.

O’Leary also repeatedly criticises American retirement habits, saying most workers save too little for 401(k)s, carry high‑interest consumer debt and overestimate future returns. He cites the high cost of healthcare—up to $172,500 for a 65‑year‑old retiree—and stresses the need for higher contributions, disciplined spending, and realistic cost assumptions to avoid shortfalls in retirement savings.
