Kevin Pangos announces retirement from professional basketball
Canadian point guard Kevin Pangos has announced his retirement from professional basketball at the age of 33. The former Gonzaga standout and two-time All-EuroLeague selection shared the news via social media, reflecting on his journey from a childhood dream of playing in the NBA to a successful career across Europe and North America.
Pangos achieved his NBA dream at age 28 when he signed a guaranteed contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, much of his professional legacy was built in the EuroLeague, where he earned All-EuroLeague First Team honors with FC Barcelona and Second Team honors with Zalgiris Kaunas. His career included stints with clubs such as Gran Canaria, Zenit, Olimpia Milano, Valencia, Napoli, and Anadolu Efes.
Following his retirement, Pangos is expected to transition into coaching. Reports indicate he will join the Arizona Wildcats coaching staff, replacing assistant coach Ken Nakagawa.
