Kevin Pietersen's betting deal creates conflict with ECB

Former England cricket captain Kevin Pietersen is facing potential complications with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) following the announcement of his brand ambassador deal with Dafabet, a Philippines-based betting company.

Pietersen has been contracted as a specialist mentor for Brendon McCullum’s white-ball team for approximately 150 days over the next 13 months, leading up to the 2027 ODI World Cup. To navigate the ECB’s strict anti-corruption and anti-gambling regulations, Pietersen has informed the board that he will refrain from promoting Dafabet during his official England commitments.

This restriction may limit his ability to fulfill the full terms of his lucrative agreement with the betting firm. Pietersen is expected to be involved in England’s winter tours of Australia and South Africa, as well as domestic white-ball fixtures next summer.
