Kevin Pollak recalls Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson interaction on 'A Few Good Men' set
Actor Kevin Pollak has shared a behind-the-scenes anecdote regarding the filming of the climactic courtroom scene in the 1992 film ‘A Few Good Men’. During the intense confrontation between Tom Cruise’s character, Lt. Daniel Kaffee, and Jack Nicholson’s Col. Nathan Jessup, Nicholson reportedly made “the most ridiculous clown face” just off-camera to distract Cruise.
According to Pollak, Cruise maintained his character and completed the take before delivering a playful punch to Nicholson’s shoulder. The interaction resulted in both actors laughing, reflecting a friendly rapport between the co-stars during the production.
Directed by Rob Reiner and based on Aaron Sorkin’s play, ‘A Few Good Men’ was a major critical and commercial success, earning four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Nicholson.
