Kevin Spacey receives Colonna d’Oro at Magna Graecia Film Festival in Calabria

The 23rd edition of the Magna Graecia Film Festival concluded in Soverato, Calabria, Italy. Organized and directed by Gianvito Casadonte, the three‑day event featured film screenings, live music, debates on sport, books and justice, and highlighted local cultural excellence.

During the closing ceremony, two‑time Oscar winner Kevin Spacey was awarded the festival’s Colonna d’Oro. In his speech he recalled his childhood ambition to act, thanked his Italian fans, and reflected on how setbacks have shaped his artistic growth, stating, “I have learned more when I have lost… without darkness there is no drama, without drama there is no art.”
