Kewon White trial begins in alleged murder-for-hire of rapper MO3

The murder-for-hire trial of Kewon White has commenced in Dallas, concerning the 2020 shooting death of rapper MO3 on Interstate 35E. Prosecutors allege that White was hired by fellow rapper Yella Beezy to carry out the killing, which occurred in broad daylight. White has pleaded not guilty and faces the death penalty.

During opening statements, MO3’s mother, Nichole Noble, provided emotional testimony, describing her son as a family-oriented man and a comedian who was “just my baby” at home. Witnesses, including drivers who observed the incident, have also testified. Prosecutors intend to use surveillance footage of the gunman chasing MO3 on foot, as well as specific songs by Yella Beezy, to establish motive and intent.

The trial is expected to last approximately two weeks. The outcome of this case is seen as a precursor to the upcoming trial of Yella Beezy, who is scheduled to stand trial in February 2026. A third defendant, Devin Brown, is also charged with capital murder for his alleged role in coordinating the attack.
