Key West hosts plein air painting sessions for Jimmy Buffett celebration

Artists are invited to participate in “Painting Paradise: A Guided Plein Air Experience” as part of the 2026 “Just a Few Friends” celebration in Key West. The event honors the life and legacy of Jimmy Buffett.

Two outdoor painting sessions are scheduled for September 4 and 5, 2026, at Shrimp Boat Sound and Louie’s Backyard. The session at Shrimp Boat Sound offers a chance to capture the historic waterfront building before significant repairs begin. Participants can use various media, and finished works may be eligible for a $100 prize and inclusion in a special exhibit. The broader celebration, running from September 2–7, 2026, will include concerts, tours, and storytelling.
