Keylor Navas Leads Liga MX Squad for MLS All‑Star Game
The Liga MX announced the 14 players nominated for its 2025‑26 Balón de Oro, who also form the first half of the league’s roster for the MLS All‑Star Game. Veteran goalkeeper Keylor Navas (Pumas) tops the list, joined by Nahuel Guzmán, defenders Federico Pereira, Jesús Gallardo and Bryan González, midfielders Erik Lira, Marcel Ruiz, Fernando Gorriarán, Nicolás Castro, Kevin Castañeda, Santiago Sandoval and Brian Gutiérrez, and forwards João Pedro and Armando González. The exhibition match will be played on 29 July 2026 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, pitting the Liga MX selection against the MLS All‑Stars. The event may feature a showdown between Navas and Lionel Messi, who leads the MLS side but has not yet confirmed participation. The All‑Star lineup and Balón de Oro voting will be finalized in early July, with the gala for the awards scheduled for 25 July. The game will be streamed exclusively on Apple TV’s MLS Season Pass for viewers in Mexico and the United States.
