Keyonte George signs $157.5M extension with Utah Jazz

Utah Jazz guard Keyonte George has agreed to a five-year, $157.5 million rookie-scale contract extension, securing his position with the franchise through the 2031-32 season. The deal, reported by ESPN, follows a breakout third season for the 22-year-old, who averaged 23.6 points and 6.1 assists per game.

During a press conference, Jazz Governor Ryan Smith expressed optimism about the team's future, stating, “the best is ahead of us.” Head coach Will Hardy also praised George’s development, noting that the player has not yet reached his full potential.

George, the 16th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, becomes the third player from that draft class to sign an extension, following Victor Wembanyama and Amen Thompson. The extension marks a significant commitment from the Jazz as they continue their rebuilding process.
