Keyshawn Hall commits to St. John's amid NCAA eligibility dispute
St. John's University head coach Rick Pitino has landed former Auburn forward Keyshawn Hall, though his ability to play for the Red Storm remains subject to legal proceedings.
Hall, a 6-foot-7 forward who averaged 19.3 points and 7.1 rebounds last season at Auburn, recently participated in the NBA Summer League with the Miami Heat. His commitment comes amid a broader legal dispute regarding NCAA eligibility rules. A judge in Ohio previously granted Hall a fifth season of eligibility based on new rules for 2022 high school graduates, but the NCAA has since obtained a stay on that decision.
A full appeal is scheduled for September, meaning Hall's eligibility for the 2026-27 season will not be determined until then. If cleared to play, Hall is expected to fill a critical role in the St. John's rotation following the loss of Donnie Freeman to an Achilles injury.
