Keyshia Cole faces backlash over Houston performances

R&B singer Keyshia Cole is facing criticism and concern from fans following a series of performances in the Houston area on October 24. Viral footage from two separate venues has sparked intense social media debate regarding the singer's vocal delivery and well-being.

At the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Cole appeared to rely heavily on the audience to sing her 2007 hit “Heaven Sent,” telling the crowd, “It’s my birthday, sing with me.” Later that evening, during Texas Southern University’s homecoming at Bar 5015, footage showed Cole seemingly struggling to perform her hit “I Should Have Cheated” alongside singer Joe. Some attendees described the sets as disappointing, with some social media users calling for refunds.

The backlash has coincided with public interest in her relationship with rapper Skrilla. While some fans have expressed concern for her health, others have engaged in speculative commentary regarding her personal life. Cole has not yet issued a public statement addressing the performances.
