Keysight Technologies expands EDA software access for European chip startups
Keysight Technologies has entered into an agreement with the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) to provide its electronic design automation (EDA) software and training to semiconductor startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This access is facilitated through the European Chips Design Platform (EuroCDP).
Historically, high license costs, computing resource requirements, and complex contract negotiations have prevented early-stage European design teams from accessing essential EDA tools. By integrating Keysight’s solutions into the cloud-based EuroCDP portfolio, the initiative aims to lower entry barriers for fabless companies under the framework of the European Chips Act.
The Keysight software suite includes tools for radio-frequency and microwave circuit design, electromagnetic and harmonic balance simulation, high-speed digital design, and device modelling. The agreement also encompasses training and design data management to assist with version control and intellectual property reuse.
