KFC Italy sparks controversy with lifetime free meals for logo tattoos
At the Modena Nerd convention in Italy, the Italian branch of KFC sparked controversy by offering lifetime free meals to individuals willing to get the company's logo tattooed on them. Approximately 200 people participated in the ‘Tattoo Experience’ stand.
The offer comes with specific restrictions: participants can only redeem their free meals at KFC locations within the Modena, Reggio Emilia, and Parma regions, and are limited to one free meal every 10 days.
The campaign has faced backlash from the consumer association Federconsumatori. The group has requested that local authorities and health officials prohibit the event, arguing that the marketing tactic exploits citizens who may be willing to undergo permanent body modifications to save money during economic crises.
