KFOR Chief of Staff Brigadier General Chad Daniels visited personnel in Mitrovica and northern Kosovo to observe the operations of the Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU) and Liaison and Monitoring Teams (LMT).

During the visit, Daniels emphasized that KFOR is gradually adapting its positioning and optimizing its presence based on ground conditions. He stated that while the mission is adjusting, it is maintaining essential capabilities, including a visible presence, strong situational awareness, engagement with all local communities, and readiness to react when necessary in accordance with the UN mandate.

KFOR has begun a gradual transition of its permanent presence at the Ibar River bridge in Mitrovica, with the Kosovo Police taking primary responsibility for security in that area. However, the bridge remains closed to vehicular traffic. Decisions regarding the reopening of the bridge rest with the European Union and relevant Kosovar institutions.

Additionally, Colonel Gianfranco Di Fiore, Commander of the MSU, visited personnel in Mitrovica, highlighting the unit's role in maintaining KFOR's mobility and readiness to respond to security developments.
