Køge waste storage facility engulfed in large fire

A large fire broke out at a waste storage facility located at Nordhavsvej 22 in Køge, Denmark. The blaze produced a thick, black column of smoke that was visible from several kilometers away, including from Copenhagen.

Police and fire services responded to the industrial area, which is home to NCC Industry A/S, a supplier of stone and gravel. Authorities stated that the smoke plume was blowing out over the water, meaning it was not expected to cause immediate issues for local residents in Køge. Police requested that citizens clear the way for emergency vehicles and follow all instructions on-site.
