KGHM former employees face Supreme Court review over fraud allegations

The Supreme Court has accepted a cassation filed by the prosecution regarding former KGHM employees. The case involves allegations of fraud occurring between 2013 and 2018, specifically concerning the falsification of time sheets and mine descent reports.

Prosecutors allege that the accused, including a former department manager and three employees, provided false information to mislead the company regarding overtime hours and underground shifts, resulting in the payment of undue wages and bonuses.

While a lower court initially issued convictions, an appellate court in Wrocław later acquitted the four individuals, questioning the factual findings of the first instance. The prosecution has challenged this acquittal, alleging gross violations of procedural law.
