Khabib Nurmagomedov says Palestine support led to lost sponsorships

Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov stated that his public support for Palestine has resulted in financial consequences, including the loss of sponsorship deals and professional contracts. Speaking at a Miftaah Institute event in New Jersey, Nurmagomedov noted that several athletes, including himself, Islam Makhachev, and Usman Nurmagomedov, have faced such repercussions.

Despite the loss of income, Nurmagomedov emphasized that “money compared to lives is nothing.” He urged athletes and public figures with large social media platforms to use their influence to raise awareness about the situation in Gaza rather than remaining silent. He described the responsibility of having a platform as a duty to share information with the public.
