Khadija Mahécor Diouf resigns as head of Senegal's Agency of Local Development
Khadija Mahécor Diouf announced her resignation as president of the Council of Surveillance of Senegal's Agency of Local Development in a letter published on 23 May. In the statement she thanked Ousmane Sonko, describing him as a man of courage and vision, and framed her departure as a “choice of coherence, commitment and loyalty to the values and vision we have always upheld for Senegal.”
Her exit adds to a series of resignations within state bodies following a presidential decree that ended Ousmane Sonko’s tenure as prime minister and dissolved the government. Diouf thanked her collaborators, militants and supporters for their loyalty and dignity during her mandate.
