Manish Gupta arrested in Bihar for impersonating IAS officer and NSA agent

Police in Khagaria, Bihar, have arrested Manish Gupta for allegedly impersonating a senior IAS officer and claiming to be an undercover agent for National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. Gupta reportedly used fake identity cards from the Central Vigilance Commission to intimidate others and conduct fraudulent operations.

A raid on Gupta’s residence in Jamalpur revealed a significant collection of luxury items and illegal goods. Seized assets include a Tesla equipped with full self-driving technology and a Tata Safari, both bearing ‘Government of India’ signage. Authorities also recovered over 31 litres of imported liquor, five iPhones, multiple laptops, 20 credit cards, and eight debit cards.

Additionally, police seized two barasingha (swamp deer) horns, which is a violation of the Wildlife Protection Act. Investigators suspect Gupta amassed vast wealth, potentially worth up to 100 crore rupees, through deception. The Bihar Police Economic Offences Unit (EOU) will assist in investigating his domestic and international assets and financial transactions.
