Khajuraho special train route truncated to Rundhi station
Passengers in Faridabad and Palwal have expressed disappointment following a decision by Indian Railways regarding the route of a new special train operating from Khajuraho. Instead of continuing to Delhi or Hazrat Nizamuddin, the special train will now terminate at Rundhi railway station, located before Palwal.
Railway officials cited technical and operational challenges for this decision, including heavy traffic on the rail network, track congestion, and ongoing yard remodeling. The section between Faridabad and Palwal is one of the country's busiest routes, already handling high volumes of express trains and local EMU services. The decision aims to prevent platform shortages and shunting issues at major Delhi stations such as New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, and Anand Vihar.
