Raï singer Khaled has addressed recent social media backlash following his performance at the Rab’Africa Festival in Rabat, Morocco. The controversy arose as citizens in Algeria criticized the artist for performing while his home country suffered from deadly wildfires that caused significant casualties and damage.

Critics on social media accused the singer of being indifferent to the national tragedy and questioned his loyalty, particularly regarding his use of certain honorifics for the Moroccan King. In response, Khaled released a message reaffirming his attachment to Algeria, stating, “I am with my country, Algeria,” and calling for an end to discord and division between the two nations.

This incident follows previous tensions regarding the artist's residency in Morocco and his national identity. Khaled has previously asserted that his Algerian nationality remains unchanged despite his professional activities abroad.
