Khalid Abdul Samad discusses Amanah leadership and political strategy

Khalid Abdul Samad, the Communications Director of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) and former Minister of Federal Territories, stated that he would have resigned from his ministerial position had he been in office during the pardon issue involving former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

In an interview, Khalid discussed the political landscape for Pakatan Harapan (PH), suggesting that cooperation between PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) for the Melaka state election is unlikely and that moving solo may be the best option. He also addressed the need for cooperation within PH Plus, specifically mentioning Bersatu, and expressed Amanah's willingness to sacrifice seats for the coalition.

Regarding party succession, Khalid noted that Amanah is actively developing new leaders in their 40s and 50s to build upon the experience of the first generation, such as President Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. He emphasized a collective leadership approach to ensure the party's values and thought processes are passed down to the second generation.
