Khandwa: Newlywed bride forcibly taken by relatives during document processing

In the Malikua area of Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, a newlywed woman, Tanjeem Mansoori, was allegedly assaulted and forcibly taken away by her relatives. The incident occurred while the couple, Tejpal Rajput and Mansoori, were at a notary office to prepare legal marriage documents following a Vedic ceremony at Mahadevgarh Temple.

According to the groom, approximately 15 to 20 of the bride's relatives arrived at the office, assaulted her, and dragged her along the road before forcing her into a car and fleeing the scene. CCTV footage of the incident has circulated on social media.

The couple, residents of Chhaigaon Makhan, reportedly had a romantic relationship for two to three years. While the bride's family had previously filed a missing person report, the groom maintains they married of their own free will. Local police have received an application from the groom and are currently investigating the matter.
