Khanh Hoa advances LNG and renewable energy projects

Khanh Hoa province is advancing several energy projects to support Vietnam's national energy transition and security. The Ca Na LNG Power Plant, with a capacity of 1,500MW, is being promoted to provide approximately 9 billion kWh of electricity annually to the national grid. LNG is viewed as a critical bridge fuel to stabilize the grid as the share of weather-dependent renewable energy increases.

Additionally, the Khanh Hoa provincial government is considering eight renewable energy projects for bidding, totaling nearly 822MW. This includes four wind power projects and four solar power projects. Specific wind projects mentioned include the EEC Khanh Hoa (100MW), TDX Khanh Hoa 1 (100MW), and Nexif Energy Khanh Hoa 1 (102MW). The province is currently reviewing legal frameworks and environmental factors, such as forest land and fishery resources, to finalize these developments.
