Khanh Hoa authorities indict officials over nuclear land compensation scheme and fake food sales
The Khanh Hoa Provincial Economic Crime Police announced the indictment of four officials—Nguyễn Hữu Tân, Hán Tấn Vĩnh An, Trần Huỳnh Kiến Trúc and Đỗ Ngọc Quang—for violating land‑compensation, support and resettlement regulations during the Ninh Thuận 1 nuclear power project. The charges, filed on 26 June 2026, allege abuse of state‑owned land, falsified documentation and illicit profit‑making that could have cost the state thousands of billions of đồng.
In a separate case, the same police unit seized more than 1,300 counterfeit food items and over 250 crates of raw apples and other ingredients from two companies, TAKLA and a Japan‑France import‑export firm. Directors and a deputy director were charged on 19 June 2026 with producing and selling fake food products marketed on TikTok Shop and Shopee. The prosecution seeks penalties for the illegal manufacturing and distribution of these counterfeit foods.
