Khawaja Asif issues eight questions to PTI over terrorism policy

Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has issued eight fundamental questions to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party in response to their claims that they were prevented from formulating anti-terrorism policies.

Asif challenged the party regarding its 13-year governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its time in federal power, questioning what specific policies prevented them from implementing the National Action Plan or convening Apex Committee meetings. He further questioned why the provincial government failed to condemn recent drone attacks in Kohat attributed to Afghanistan and why they have not formally protested border violations and incursions originating from Afghan territory.

The Defense Minister also demanded accountability regarding the illegal economy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, specifically mentioning extortion, smuggling, and non-custom paid vehicle trade. Additionally, he questioned the party's lack of public solidarity with security forces and their perceived tendency to confuse the national narrative regarding terrorism by failing to condemn extremist groups using state-sanctioned terminology.
