Khon Kaen homeowner sells house after three burglaries
A 44-year-old woman named Thanida has put her home in Khon Kaen province up for sale following three separate burglaries over a three-year period. Despite the property being located in Sila subdistrict directly opposite several government and police facilities—including the Tourist Police office and the Provincial Police Region 4 training centre—security measures failed to prevent the thefts.
The first incident occurred approximately three years ago, involving damage to electrical wiring valued at nearly 60,000 baht. A second major burglary in mid-2025 resulted in the loss of nearly 1 million baht worth of items, including air conditioners, electronics, furniture, and Buddha statues. During that incident, thieves also dismantled security cameras and hard drives to eliminate evidence.
Although Thanida attempted to secure the unoccupied property by installing additional CCTV cameras and raising perimeter walls, a third break-in occurred recently, involving a smashed front window. Having moved her family to Bangkok, she decided to sell the property to avoid the constant anxiety of future thefts.
