The Khorasan Razavi Environmental Protection Department has officially debunked viral social media images claiming to show a dinosaur in the desert regions of Binalud, Iran. Authorities confirmed that the images are entirely fake and were created using artificial intelligence.

To verify the authenticity of the claims, the department utilized the advanced AI tool Grok, which confirmed the images were synthetic and lacked any basis in reality. Officials noted that there have been no field reports or sightings from rangers or experts regarding such a creature, emphasizing that dinosaurs have been extinct for millions of years.

The Governor of Golbahar also issued a denial, criticizing the rapid spread of misinformation. The incident has raised concerns regarding media literacy and the ability of the public to distinguish between AI-generated content and actual reality.
