Khosla family acquires Seattle Seahawks for record $9.612 billion

The NFL owners have unanimously approved the sale of the Seattle Seahawks to the Khosla family, led by Vinod, Neeru, and Neal Khosla. The transaction, finalized through an agreement with the Paul G. Allen Estate, is a league-record acquisition valued at $9.612 billion.

The sale marks a transition from the Allen family, who acquired the franchise in 1997. The Seahawks, who recently won their second Super Bowl by defeating the New England Patriots, will remain based in Seattle and continue to play at Lumen Field.

During an introductory press conference, Vinod Khosla noted his long-standing fandom for the Pittsburgh Steelers, a revelation that drew criticism from some Seattle fans on social media. Khosla also mentioned his previous involvement with the San Francisco 49ers' ownership group.
