Khuzestan authorities seize 100 illegal crypto miners

Authorities in Khuzestan province have conducted operations under the ‘Mahtab’ national plan to manage non-technical energy losses. In Shushtar, officials reported the discovery of over 100 illegal cryptocurrency mining devices and the seizure of 41 unauthorized transformers.

The Khuzestan Electricity Distribution Company stated that 220 illegal connections were collected and 99 cases involving mobile vendors were addressed. Technical measures included installing 131 new meters and replacing 239 defective meters. These actions resulted in the recovery of approximately 6.78 million kilowatt-hours of energy from illegal connections and 4.36 million kilowatt-hours from meter replacements.
