Khuzestan Steel Company launches wind fencing project to curb pollution

Khuzestan Steel Company has officially launched a new environmental project utilizing wind fencing technology to mitigate dust and wind-blown material pollution. The project was inaugurated in the presence of Shina Ansari, the head of the Department of Environment, and other government officials.

During the ceremony, Ansari praised the company's use of innovative technology to reduce emissions, noting that while adhering to environmental standards is a legal obligation, using creative solutions like wind fencing represents a proactive approach to sustainable production. She emphasized the global shift toward ‘green steel’ and encouraged large industries to view environmental protection as a strategic investment and a competitive advantage rather than just a regulatory requirement.

While commending the initiative, the Department of Environment head also noted the importance of implementing complementary projects to protect nearby residential areas from industrial pollutants. She highlighted that the company's commitment to environmental projects despite existing economic and regional challenges serves as a model for other industrial units.
