Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Approves Province‑wide Digital Education Reform

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial government approved a comprehensive digital education reform plan aimed at modernising learning across the province. Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi announced a one‑time investment of Rs 5 billion to digitise the curriculum, make textbooks available on smartphones through the “Parho Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” initiative, and provide offline access for students with limited internet.

The programme, already in use in more than 50 schools, will expand to 500 schools by the end of August and introduce virtual science and language labs. A unified digital platform will integrate teaching, assignments, examinations, attendance and AI‑driven personalised learning. Officials project a 30‑35 % rise in literacy over the next two years and annual savings exceeding Rs 100 billion once fully implemented.
